The State Archives of the Cherkasy region (GACHO, the state archive of the region) is a unique document storage of sources of information about Cherkasy region.
The oldest documents in the archive date back to the first decade of the 18th century - letters of sale kept in the fund of the Jabotinsky Onufrievsky monastery (since 1710). As a structural subdivision of the Cherkasy regional state administration, the regional state archive is accountable and controlled by the regional state administration and the State Archival Service of Ukraine.
The institution is intended to form a national archival fund. The state archive of the region carries out the reception, description and storage of documents in order to use retrospective documentary information.
